The Graduate College of Dance is one of Australia’s leading vocational dance schools. The College trains students to excel both nationally and internationally and continues to produce elite dancers for leading dance schools and companies in Australia and around the world.
Talented students aged 10 to 17 (Years 5 to 12) are prepared for the profession in a supportive and encouraging environment, and taught by distinguished, internationally recognised teachers including ex-professionals. A pre-vocational course in Classical Ballet and Creative Dance is available to young dancers aged 5-9 years. A system of training has been developed to encompass the eight years of full time training offered at the College. It draws upon valuable traditions from different schools of classical ballet, retaining the best, while embracing the demands of classical dance technique as is required of professional artists today. The Year 10, 11 and Year 12 courses are endorsed by the Curriculum Council of Western Australia. Students completing each of these courses will gain points towards WACE. The Graduate College of Dance believes it is necessary that all students have a broad-based comprehensive education that equips them to pursue vocations, not only in dance and the allied arts, but also in areas outside dance. The Graduate College of Dance offers a range of performance experiences, with a major public season held each year in Perth. Where we came from... More than thirty years after it was founded, The Graduate College of Dance remains committed to providing elite dance training within a stimulating environment.
